GIWAXD SetupAlot of folks ask what I do at the Australian Synchrotron. Well this was from last night’s 24hr run.  Here’s a GIWAXD set up at the SAXS/WAXS beamline. I’m not so sure I want to do a full explaination of it but in a nutshell: it’s a scattering technique which allows the study of nanostructure within thin films. As with other grazing incidence techniques, the extreme incident angles which now sits in between the critical angle of the film and substrate allow for better surface sensitivity thus allowing one to study the film rather than the substrate it sits upon… .
